Please pray for the happy repose of the soul of Father Aidan O'Reilly who has recently died. His obituary and funeral details are given below.
Fr Aidan O'Reilly died in Nazareth House, Prestwich, on Thursday 20th January. Father O'Reilly was in his seventy-eighth year, the fifty-second year of his Sacred Priesthood.
Aidan O'Reilly was born on 12th May, 1933, and was baptised on the same day in the Parish Church of St Killian, Mullagh, County Cavan. He was confirmed on 11th April, 1944, in the same church. He was educated at St Patrick's College, County Cavan, St Mary's College, Dundalk and St Kieren's College, Kilkenny. Aidan was accepted as an ecclesiastical student for the Diocese of Salford on 11th March, 1954, and continued his studies at St Kieren's College, Kilkenny. He was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood on 31st May 1959, in Kilkenny.

Fr Aidan O’Reilly retired from active ministry in the year 2000 and lived in retirement in a house on Pole Lane, Bury, and for the last couple of years he has lived at Nazareth House in Prestwich.
Funeral arrangements
Fr O'Reilly's mortal remains will be received into the chapel of Nazareth House, Prestwich, on Tuesday 01 February at 7.00pm for concelebrated Mass. Bishop Brain will celebrate the Requiem Mass on Wednesday 02 February at 11.00am. Burial will take place on Thursday 03 February in Fr O'Reilly's home parish in Mullgah, County Cavan.
